Parker Hannifin Hose Plant – Manhattan, KS
Bahm Construction was contracted to remove the existing vulcanizer and replace with a new one. The complete project was to be completed in 4 days. Bahm Construction worked day and night for 4 days to complete the project.
Day 1 consisted of demo of the metal panel wall, removal of old vulcanizer, and demo of the concrete foundation and footing.
On Day 2 Bahm Construction removed mud and installed AB3 rock to stabilize the ground. The new footings and foundation was poured using high early strength concrete at 3’ thick with a double mat of rebar. This allowed the concrete to set at a fast rate and the new vulcanizer to be set in place immediately.
Once the concrete was dry on day 3, the new vulcanizer was placed on the new foundation.
Finally on Day 4 the electrical and plumbing components were hooked up to the vulcanizer and it was up and running.
